Business Case Presentation Suggestions and Recommendations

If you have been invited to present your business case to the Monadnock Angel Investor Group, here are several suggestions that will make the brief time spent with the investors more efficient, By preparing your material with these suggestions in mind, you will address most of the questions that are on the minds of the investors.

Specifics

You will be invited to spend approximately one hour with the investors of the group. You should plan that your presentation be about 30 to 35 minutes in length and that it covers the following topics.

  • A brief description of the business and how it will make money
  • How much investment you are requesting and what that investment "buys" for the investor (percent of equity, equity plus options on future stock, loan convertible to stock, etc.).
  • A review of how investors will make money, a suggested Exit Strategy for investors, and a likely timeline.
  • A potential range of returns for investors.
  • Background, experience and roles of the principals and the management team.
  • A review of current and potential customers, size of the market, and any competing products and companies.
  • An overview of the business growth forecast, revenue growth forecast and expense forecast.

The 25 to 30 minutes remaining will be used by the investors for questions and to provide you with feed back on your business case. Since time is tight, it is advisable that you listen to all of the feedback provided by the investors without rebuttal or comment. Answers to questions should be brief and to the point. Answers can be submitted through our web site if they require a longer response.

Monadnock Angel Investor Group meetings begin at 8:30am and usually have a brief administrative period between 8:30 and 9:00am . It would be beneficial if you can arrive at the location at 8am to do any set up that is required. In that way, we can start the presentation immediately after the admin section of the meeting.

A full business plan is not essential at this point but if available it would be good have it submitted with your application
